I'm having same issue. Also seems that only the front panel is having this sound problem. Until new fix is commong had to disable it. Had also a soft issue here, even it was disabled when I starged the car, door lights wore on while the bord one has off. (this breaks the fency Harman Kardon Premium Sound :) )

Just got a new C40 yesterday and the buzzing sound from the backlit panels are so bad that I don't want to drive the car. Turning the backlights off makes the sound go away, but for $70,000+ I shouldn't have to sit in a buzzing sound box or turn features off!

Contacted dealer last night and let them know about this. Their recommended solution is to try and reboot the panels and / or fiddle with the light intensity.
Is this in EVERY SINGLE C40 or just some?

If rebooting and fiddling with it doesn't work, I am taking the car back to them. So disappointing.

So glad the Core edition here in the UK comes without the ambient lighting. I have one on order and normally like some subtle ambient lighting, so was a bit peeved there was no option to spec the ambient lighting. Now I see the buzzing is “standard”, I don’t feel so bad.

ha!

I will say that when I'm driving at highway speeds with the radio on, the ambient lighting buzz isn't noticeable. That's also the main time I'd want a little extra cabin lighting to help keep me awake, so that sort of works out. When driving in the city at lower speeds I've found that the lighting around the moonroof controls and surrounding the charging pad plus the lighting from the screens are more than enough ambient light as is. That said, I'd love it if the newly released 2.5 software comes with a fix...

Got my c40 on Friday and the buzzing is already driving me nuts which is crazy.. I get buzzing when the interior lighting is on.. I’ve checked both high and low - buzz is the same, also tried dimming - same.

anyone know how you dim the centre console? It’s way too bright and I can’t find a setting. SURELY there’s a setting for brightness..?

Recommend to use eye protection film aka anti-blue light film. It should be helpful. There’s No brightness setting.

Just updated to version 2.5 and to my ears the buzzing sounds even worse. Can anyone else confirm.

I can't believe they didn't test such a simple thing on a car of this price. If you're not going to fix it, at least give us a slider for adjusting just the Topography lighting!

It's not worse to my ears, if anything slightly better but still horrendously annoying 😕

Even on "high" the LEDs are not outputting more than maybe 50%, based on how they can flare up when you open the door - and the instant they're undimmed that way the buzzing goes away.

Yes, they really need to give us the ability to adjust them manually or something.

If you haven't, please complain to Volvo so they understand they need to fix this.

I had my mechanic/technician listen to it last week and he lodged a complaint with Volvo. Although they're obviously aware of it 🤷🏼‍♂️

Buzzing noise comes with dimming.
Under 2.5 update, regardless of it's intensity, still buzzing but some changes there.
No more dimming depending on brightness of surroundings.
It means you can hear buzzing noise 24hours now, instead of at darkness.

When intensity set to "High", interior lights on dash panel still dimmed. that's why noise is still there.
but door noise gone with max intensity.
Think need one more update for intensity of on-dash light to be maximized.

Am not sure what you mean by “rebooting the panel”, you mean reboot the IHU? I don’t have the buzzing noise in my C40 and I also listen and turn on music right after I drive, plus my ears are geared up for Harmon Kardon and Sirius and Apple Music!😇😇.

I believe there is a fix through the next OTA as I am assuming your car came deployed with OTA2.5 and if it did, the buzzing noise issue is till rampant.

Didn't notice the buzzing noise until I upgraded to 2.5. For me, the noise is gone if I turn off the interior lights.
What interior lights do you turn off? The knob on the left of the dashboard to low that lights up the front dash, IHU and the Abisko National Park lit 🔥 panels?
