To this day I don't know what the issue was. I should follow it up and ask. They have fixed the car recently because it's back up for sale here. I only realised this because since May (when they gave me the replacement vehicle), I still had the red one assigned to me in the Volvo ID Portal. I checked it every now and then to see if it was still there and in mid-late August it disappeared. That's when I checked the CarSales website and saw it back up for sale.

If you scroll through those pictures you'll see all the workshop dust that's on the plastic covers under the hood. The last time I saw the car because it had been sitting in the workshop for 6+ months with the windows down, all that dust was throughout the entire car. So they've done a good job of cleaning it up.

Next time I'm at the dealership I will ask. I can guarantee they won't have forgotten me.
Yikes, that’s really disconcerting. This is why I usually try to not be an early adopter with new tech. Really hoping they’ve made some headway as a company with this issue. Best of luck with your new car!

I think the Propulsion System Failure message is a catch all for several things, hardware & software. For example, a problem with the heat pump used for cooling/heating the battery could trigger the failure message, it's not limited to just the battery/electric motors control electronics. Some folks have reported seeing the message, then after 24 hours it goes away and never comes back. In any case, it's still unnerving, having a car that you suspect is unreliable is never fun . . .
I have this failure error code pop on my current road trip. Hoping it goes away on its own. For now there are a set of DCFCs I am getting a failure to charge, especially the ABB units using the “EV connect app”. I have been charging fine on L2 and Tesla destination chargers using the Tesla to J1772 adaptor.

Wife got paged to the hospital last night and car showed error code: 'Slow Down, Propulsion system failure.' Managed to get it to buck and jerk far enough to get my truck out. Error changed to Propulsion System service required. That error code stayed for 7hrs and has now disappeared. Volvo on call told me to get it towed for service.

Anyone else have this problem after the last update?

My wife is on call with her job (needs to be at hospital in under 30min) and we are really second guessing our choice with the car.
This message came up yesterday and today no electrics including light indicator working. Not due for service for months?
