I went sage green basically to help save water during the california drought, right before the skies opened up and haven't stopped. 😅 That said, the bit about lacking reflective metallic bits isn't the case at least with the sage green XC40; it glistens pretty nicely in the sunlight. The fjord blue models that I've seen out on the road are also brighter than the website suggests to my eye, but maybe that's just against all the muted earth tones on the road?

 

Can you really imagine a “look at me yellow” XC40? I like my Sage Green Volvo and the way the colour changes from concrete grey to a light sage to olive according to the light. Not seen too many green cars out there, but I’ll take your word for it on the Toyota. Still like my car better.

 

It's true, they're Volvos! Not exactly a brand known for flashiness. I love my sage green XC40. Very soothing to look at.

 

My C40 is RED, frightfully in-your-face RED. We have a Kia Soul in yellow and it's beautiful. I'd have gladly bought the Volvo in biright yellow, fluorescent orange, candy copper, or ANY color more interesting than black, grey (GREY!), muted green, or white.

Mazda still sells that incredible brilliant red and there are a dozen wrapped Teslas in the boise region in colors from irridescent purple to pink to matte olive. It's the battleship greys that make me nuts.

You would drive this? I'm all about avoiding black and white but this is A LOT of yellow!

My Fjord Blue XC40 is beautiful in all light conditions. It's like a chameleon of blue hues. It looks especially badass at dusk.

 

The sage green is actually full of glitter and in certain angles and lighting almost too much.
Definitely not flat such as all the tan grey and etc Toyotas like the Tacoma come in.

 

I love color, the sage green is just enough to be interesting and is it's best in full direct sun. It goes well with my orange mustang, although the wife says when both cars are parked next to each other they give off major carrot vibes.

I popped open the frunk the other day and took note of the flat red under the hood. It is very attractive. I like my shiny fusion RED but I’d have ordered the car in flat matte red if I’d had the option. No, I will not wrap it.

I get where people are coming from with their bright colours, but this is a big expensive Swedish luxury car. Personally, I'd like to see the Pine Grey, but I live in the rainy Pacific Northwest and like green.

Yes...but what I meant is the images to date are not real painted cars, they're Volvo colour renderings from the digital world, made to look like real cars. Until we see it in a real environment it's hard to say for sure. But I think it's great they're offering a colour!
