One flat, two flats

Started driving out of my driveway to the Rockies game a week ago Sunday. Front right tire obviously flat. Took the tire to tire shop. Unrepairable -- slice on the sidewall. Got a new tire free from Volvo dealership because wife had wisely and over my objections insisted on road hazard coverage. Don't remember hitting anything like a pothole or road junk. Installed the tire, then went round the car checking pressures. Rear right tire at only 20 psi. Took it off and there were two exact same screws embedded in the tire, along same line 8 inches apart. Took it to tire shop. Unrepairable because embedded screws too close to the sidewall. So tomorrow I'm off to the dealership to get another tire under what is now my favorite coverage. Am I paranoid to think some ICE fanatic went after my tires while I was parked at a golf course the day before I found the first flat? Seems crazy, but as the saying goes, even paranoids have enemies.

No, they're not out to get you.
P. S. How was the Rockies game?

Having non-repeatable flat tires is something I fear, so I got the tire/wheel extended plan the dealer was offering. For $500 the car is covered for 5 years. One wheel or one tire damaged can cost way more.

What's the "Four-Tire Plan" offered by Discount Tire ? You can replace UP to 4 brand new tires IF not repairable ?
I guess that's my option given I'm away passed the "Dealer Offer" of $500 for 4 Years - that's a good deal. I didn't even think of it at that time, as my mind was CONVINCED that the Dealer was out to get me in every single corner given the overall bad experience I had throughout the purchasing journey -- all I wanted was to get the **** out, drive the Car out and not see them again ESPECIALLY after that First (and last) encounter with the Brake issues !

for what it's worth, after watching this video of the XC40 P8 off road, I feel those tires are not that delicate.
There's not much distance between the rubber and the rim. Forget about off roading, I wonder if riding over a speed bump or pothole too fast might hit metal and warp the wheel.
