Controlling the car through Google Assistant on phone

I've set up the car in Google Assistant on my phone. It works great except for features which require authentication. I can check the fuel level, check the range, check if the windows/doors are opened and lock the car. If I want to unlock the car the phone requests that I authenticate myself but the authentication window disappears in half a second after showing up. The follow up message is that Google Assistant couldn't authenticate me and refuses to unlock the car. If I time it just right when the authentication window shows up it unlocks the car.

Does anybody else have this issue or, better yet, had it and solved it? I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra with the latest updates installed.

Thanks in advance! :)

I believe there's a setting in the Volvo Cars app that you can toggle on and off for authentication/PIN to unock. Maybe if you have that toggled ON, you can change it to OFF and then it might work with Google Assistant. Just a thought...not sure. I used to have it toggled to require my phone PIN when unlocking, but changed it since I figure it wasn't possible to access the app features when the phone is locked anyway?
