I was listening to a podcast on my iPhone and when I got in the car it started playing on the car speakers. I then checked my iPhone to see what was happening and under Airplay it showed ‘Volvo XC40” as an available speaker.

I was listening to a podcast on my iPhone and when I got in the car it started playing on the car speakers. I then checked my iPhone to see what was happening and under Airplay it showed ‘Volvo XC40” as an available speaker.

I encountered an issue today that might be related. iOS is updated to 17.0.1 and car is updated to 2.11 so I’m not sure if either or both of these might be the cause. I plugged my iPhone in and hit play on audio in Apple Music on the car’s CarPlay interface and the audio started playing out of my phone speaker. I unplug and plugged back in and the same thing happened. Restarting the infotainment system solved the issue but again not sure if it was related to the iOS update or the car’s recent update or neither. I did not try with Spotify to see if the problem existed there or if it was just Apple Music.
