Has anybody else experienced phantom braking when using OPD and adaptive cruise control? I just came back from a 250km return trip, most of it on the highway and I had more than half a dozen phantom braking episodes - a couple of them were quite full on.
Cruising along with cars all around me I suddenly went into deep regen mode. I had to smash the accelerator to get the car to speed back up again.
Another instance I had a truck come across into my lane, but it was like 100m infront of me. My car suddenly applied the brakes like it had just cut across immediately infront of me and had invaded the distance I set between myself and the vehicle infront. For the record I run the shortest distance possible between myself and the vehicle infront (which I believe is very adequate).
And also another time I was driving along doing 110kph in my own lane, nothing around me and the car suddenly went into regen.
I'm on v2.9. Back when I had my MY22 XC40 (which was on v2.2, 2.3 etc), I don't remember any phantom braking issues. Obviously something is triggering it or the car thinks it sees something. All I could think today was this is what Tesla drivers must feel like. I also had a bit of a close call as I had one car that was a bit too close behind me, and my car phantom braked. Guy must have thought I was brake testing him. Needless to say he backed off a lot. It wasn't my intention though and the situation could have easily been worse.
Anybody else had a similar experience?
