I thought I read somewhere that when the car gets below 20% charge that the Drivers screen will then also show approx. how many Miles/Kms remain - I just did some errands and the charge level was at 18% and it did not show remaining Miles/Kms? Is this something that will get fixed in the software update or is there a setting to turn on?
That was the case when I first got the car (thanks to the dealer not fully charging it on pickup!). When it's 25% or below, it should tell you distance to empty next to the percentage on the drivers console, not the center screen.
I have a deposit and am negotiating on a white XC 40 P8 that’s a dealer order in transit. They screwed up on the website and showed 2 other P8s with a $3000 discount given to ICE XC 40 R line vehicles. After I pointed out the discount on the website (the one I’m negotiating on didn’t show a discount off MSRP), they gave me a mea culpa and changed the website on the other 2 units. I shared the corporate service manager bulletin with my dealer. They offered me either a ChargePoint EVSE or a $750 charging credit on the ChargePoint system.
I also pointed out the BECM recall, heat pump, VOC app and CarPlay/Android Auto sw issues. I think I educated them on these issues. But they assured me that their vehicle prep would assure the vehicle has all the sw updates and recall fixes done at delivery. I won’t say they’re clueless about the P8 — they know all the brochure info and only had a demo which they recently sold— but they don’t outwardly acknowledge the rocky NA roll out of the XC 40 P8. For example when I asked about CarPlay the sales rep said, yes, it comes equipped with CarPlay and AA. Didn’t say it would not be available at vehicle delivery and not until maybe 3Q.
I opted for the Chargepoint. The dealer ordered it for me on a Wednesday, no questions asked, and I picked it up the following Monday. Installation took about 15 min. (DIY).
I opted for the $750 gift card option for high end retailer or restaurant. Delivery /software delays came up in my discussion with the dealer. They didn't push back at all. I have also been enjoying a loaner for the past week.
We benefitted from someone cancelling their order and were able to pick up a 'bursting blue' XC40 Recharge on Saturday. My dealer was able to offer new incentives in May that weren't on the table in April:
1) Most notably, the increased the Volvo lease allowance to $7500 to match the federal tax credit. So here in CA, they took the $7500 lease allowance + the $1500 clean air rebate off the top of the sticker price.
2) Our Chargepoint options were to select either a home charger unit or $500 in ChargePoint credits. We chose the latter because our city will provide a rebate on the purchase of a home charger. We were told the ChargePoint credits would arrive in a few weeks via a card (which seems like a waste of time and money - why not just load it to my account?)
3) We inquired a few times on the $1k accessories and even shared the print out posted in one of the forums here. Of course, since it was Saturday, the general manager who would need to approve that was not available, so our salesperson is supposed to get back to us on that.
Busy day for me and my XC40 Recharge. Got the software update, a charge and wash courtesy of the service department, my free bike rack & cargo net, and a $1000 check refund of my original deposit from the dealer. And my new license plate is on the way (SCANS, of course!)

Fantastic news! For #1. Which dealer? I’m assuming this is a Volvo incentive that ALL dealers are now able to extend (starting in May) to customers who are leasing?
For #2 and #3 - are you saying they were offering the CP charger (or credits) AND the $1K in accessories? My understanding from the bulletin was one or the other, not both.

#1 - that was at Volvo Cars Orange County (the auto mall in Santa Anna). But I agree with you that it was positioned as a VOLVO finance offering, not just the dealer.
#2 & #3: The ChargePoint options were already on the table. From the initial test drive we did, those were presented as incentives. I did not interpret the bulletin as an either-or situation, so we took the bulletin in to try to get the accessories as well. Still no word back from the dealer though, so, you may be correct.
Yes. We've done two fast charges on Electrify America network. Both were on different 150 kW rated stations:
48kWh, 47 mins, Max charging speed of 128.3 kW
44kWh, 34 mins, Max charging speed of 125.14 kW

I'll be putting the Recharge to the test with a road trip from PA to San Francisco in a few weeks. We'll see how easy or arduous the charging stops will be.
