I bought my XC40 R-Design T5 AWD back in April 2018. I have twice had issues while driving with receiving an error message displayed in the dashboard saying something like:

"Engine System Reduced Performance"

As with other problems I've had I tried to pull over and take a photo or video of the issue before taking the car in for service. One concern,
other than having these problems twice with such a new car is that after turning the car off the error message is no longer available in
the touch screen user interface of the car.

Are other people seeing these types of error messages? The car seems to be having horse power diminished just prior to this message
being displayed.

I can't say that I nor my wife has seen this issue but with our previous vehicle (not a Volvo) there was a similar warning message and it turned out to be a bad turbo.

I have an Xc40 hybrid 2021with 12000 km. I have received several such error messages eith explanation to be obtained. This one eas about reduced performance.
Last time it was an engine sign on the screen, no one, at Paris dealership,could explain what and why. However, they just told me they had reduced sensitivity of sensors!!!!
Constantly providing useless information, such as ‘your car is unlocked’ when it is not.
Never haVe had these problems and loss of faith in my car. It is my first VOLVO!

No, I have not been able to find out about the cause. I have just received stupid and complex potential explanations from the dealership.
As a result, and at a financial loss, sold the XC40 and bought an AUDI Q3. What a difference!!!
