Seems the trend in web sites is very spares specifics and appeal more to picture and graphics to grab you emotionally in. I can't find anywhere if the XC40 Recharge has wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Looking through the online manual I don't see a reference and the online manual is pretty weak as well.

Best I can tell it does not. Rather weak for a car that costs as much as this does in today's market. when you can get that on entry level cars now...

There is a post somewhere in the forum that wireless Carplay is scheduled for release in a future OTA update. That was a concern for me as well, but so far, I am pleasantly surprised at how well the native Android OS works.

You can buy a dongle that will convert it to wireless. I've ordered one from an Indiegogo campaign for Android called AA wireless that is scheduled to ship in June however just like everyone else they are having a hard time getting microchips.There are a couple of youtube videos from people who have received theirs showing how it works.

The paper spec sheet I have that notes it as coming later specifically says it will be wireless when it arrives. There’s a white ring around the usb-c port that will useful for those who want to plug their phone in, but it should also work wireless.

Yeah I purchased the CPLAY2Air and it works great for my wife's iPhone. Every so often she has to hit the button to allow it to pair on the car, but considering min 3 years with her 19 RDX the connected CarPlay rarely worked this is great. They just had a deal for $99 from the regular $129, not sure it is still around. It does take like 2 weeks to get it as they drop ship from China.

A dongle for what? You can play music from a device via bluetooth, so I'm curious as to what sort of additional connection you're looking for.

New functions will be added for your vehicle later this year. For example, the orange Care Key key will get a speed limit designed to help ensure that the vehicle is driven safely, for example if you loan it out. Apple CarPlay will be added to also enable a passenger to integrate their phone with your vehicle.

Note this doesn't explicitly state it will be WIRELESS CarPlay, but that is being assumed by most people since the car has the necessary wi-fi hardware.

Ah ! That’s a shame. I’m buying a T5 inscription XC40 so I’m hoping this will be extended to that. Idk if the regular xc40’s get OTA’s but I don’t see why not. I also wish it was a little more specific that if it was going to be wireless for sure. Oh well wait and see I guess, thank you!!!
