If anyone would like to be prepared for the upcoming winter season. Here are some options that may work for you.Any winter suggestions for XC40 Recharge P8 with 20” wheels. Ideally I would like studded snow tires and/or traction devices & where to purchase these items. Thank you in advance!
I test fitted my 235 55 19 on 19x8 43mm offset snow tires on the P8. They fit just fine on the back. On the front at full steering lock the tire was probably a half inch or less from the wheel well liner. I can slide my hand between the tire and liner with factory 20's. I can get my finger tips in the same space with the 235 55 19's. I'd go with a no, they won't work. Now the question of square vs staggered...My dealership would not say ok but didn't rule out square and Volvo cars when emailed said ask your local dealer. If you get snow tires of adequate load index (100 or greater per the manual) and rims of adequate load capacity do we really need to keep the staggered tire size? Would any tire with a 28ish overall diameter do? Stock size has between 6 and 8 revolutions per mile difference between front and back. Once I get mine (will be the wife's car as a replacement for our Chevy bolt) I will see if the 29binch overall diameter winter tires (235 55 19) from our xc90 fit. **I don't encourage anyone else to try this, but a square setup of similar sized tires give us more choices.
