I was able to resolve the KM/Miles issue by also opening the Waze app on iOS and toggling " Distance Units".
Toggling units in the car didn’t work for me, but doing so in the Waze app in my iPhone did the trick!I was able to resolve the KM/Miles issue by also opening the Waze app on iOS and toggling " Distance Units". View attachment 6341
Nope. Only text instructions in the driver display when in navigation mode. The best thing to happen, can I also view the Waze map on the cockpit screen behind the steering wheel?
You should get voice instructions and alerts. I even get street camera alerts. Make sure voice is set up correctly.Hello. I’m loving the fact the Waze is now available! I just picked up my new XC40 ReCharge and was disappointed that it was not there last week and then today, bam. At any rate, I cannot get alerts or any sound from the actual app. I’m listening to Sirius while driving, it would be nice to get the driving instructions/alerts like when the app is running through CarPlay. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to get this to work?
I am sorry to ask... but how do I know if voice is set up correctly? From what I can tell, when I am Waze, and hit sound, it is showing as being able to play. That being said, is there another setting I am missing? Google Maps works but would much rather use Waze. You should get voice instructions and alerts. I even get street camera alerts. I too had problems getting the sound to work and did the following:I am sorry to ask... but how do I know if voice is set up correctly? This WORKED! Thank you for this.I too had problems getting the sound to work and did the following:
- Reset the center console (long press home physical button) did NOT resolve the issue
Then did the following things, unfortunately all at the same time, so I don't know which one actually fixed it but it is working now:
- In the phone waze app toggled OFF play sound/guidance through phone speaker
- In the phone waze app changed voices
- Exited the waze app on the phone
- Exited the waze app on the car
- Then in the car waze app again, while NOT navigating, use the waze settings in the top right corner of the screen to access the sound setting and toggled OFF and back ON
Hope this helps
That shows driver display integration can be done by installed apps. Good newsTested Waze, my preferred GPS software before my MY23 XC40 Recharge Twin.
No Integration with the battery management system so it doesn't show SOC, range, etc. Does not have a search option specifically for charging stations. Without these we won't get route planning and preconditioning with Waze. Drivers display just shows next turn direction and distance. Quiet mode display actually shows more: turn direction, distance, and the name of the street. No driver display map.
I would only find this useful for around town navigation where I am not worried about charging but want traffic info. Hopefully a future version will be more integrated.

I agree with your assessment and vastly prefer the integrated google maps. Waze only excels at marking police and hazards (I personally never got the arrival notification feature to work - but it sounds cool). The cops nearly always are out on my commute so I still use Waze in the main display when I like that info. It’s weird that Google maps doesn’t use wazer report data, I thought they owned them?Tested Waze, my preferred GPS software before my MY23 XC40 Recharge Twin.

Same here. SOC and automatically planning for recharge stops with state of chargers and all is extremely critical for long trips... so Waze, while looks nice, is not going to do it for me. I'd say is nice for a preview of what it could be... but the critical features that make Google Maps so useful on my car (i.e. planning for charging stops if my trip will require them) are cruelly missing.Since Waze does not show SOC or preheat the pack en route to DCFC, I will not use it.
check post #29The Waze app doesn't produce any sound on my Volvo. Anyone has that issue also?
