Volvo XC40 Could Be A Segment Sales Leader

After test driving the new 2019 XC40 for the first time, Auto123 predicts a bright future for the small vehicle and suggests that it could even become the top selling model in its segment. Volvo certainly seems to be on a roll, first with the XC90 followed by the XC60 and now their entry into the luxury compact SUV segment is expected to be a crowd pleaser.

Powering the new offering is a 187-hp T4 or a 248-hp T5, depending on the trim. No matter which one you choose, they both come standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission and exceptional suspension system. The McPherson type front suspension and multi-link, trailing-arm system in the rear provides drivers with a comfortable. Something that seemed to surprise Auto123 considering how much road grip the XC40 has when thrown around corners.

Housing the two powertrains and Compact Modular Architecture platform is a distinctively Volvo body. There’s no mistaking those Thor Hammer headlights, uncommon taillights and unique front grille. Giving the XC40 a more imposing silhouette are sculpted lines, rear hatch with large deflectors, and side windows that angles up towards the rear wing. Every feature was well though out and the interior was created with meticulously; from the indicator dials array to the retractable mobile hook hidden in the glove compartment.

With a starting price of just $39,500, the Volvo XC40 could find its way to the top of its category in time.
