There's not much to worry about with this tech, its encrypted enough and to be honest what are the odds of it happening? Because often the odds are well below anything that should cause a concern for you. What you should be more concerned about is how well built the XC40 is or isn't.

Kind of agree that the quality of the car is more important than the possibility of the digital system being hacked. I don't see anyone stealing a car by hacking, easier ways to do it. I have a plug in hybrid (Ford) now and I like being able to check its loaction, charge level and lock it remotely. I wonder if there is some software protocal that will limit the car use by parking attendants?

remote start

I don't see anywhere in the On Call app to adjust heat/cool after remotely starting the car, so it appears that the car will default to the last settings used for heat/cool.

Heating Control

To bad. Subaru and others have it. Seems like the killer feature to have in your app. Start the car and set the temperature you want. Why have this connectivity and automation in your car and not have your APP control it?

I submitted an enhancement request to [email protected] - maybe it's possible they just haven't had enough requests.

My Jeep Grand Cherokee is smart enough to adjust the climate control based upon the ambient temperature inside the cabin. So if I use the remote start on a cold winter day, it will automatically turn on the heater, defrosters, and seat heaters, regardless of how I left everything set. On a warm summer day, it will turn on the A/C and cooled seats, no matter how I left everything set. I'd be surprised if the XC40 doesn't do the same...

It doesn't. Sad. So many other cars do. Just goes by what they were last set to. APP does not have any ability to adjust/change.
