Variocage Dog Kennel installation

We just bought a 2023 XC40. We shopped long and hard for the perfect vehicle that could transport us and our dogs. We compete in Dog Agility events and needed a vehicle that could carry our luggage along with chairs, cooler, table, and other accouterments. Previously, we had an Infiniti QX60, but wanted a smaller vehicle.

Our dog kennel is a substantial Variocage unit. The size is Double medium. It fits perfectly in the XC40.

Here are some pictures of the installed kennel and other belongings. The rear seats easily fold down for luggage, or up for passengers. The kennel will have to be removed (4 straps) to service the 48v battery or access the spare tire. Minor inconvenience, but not insurmountable.

I have the Variocage single and agree it's a good fit for the XC40 and very robust. It's a shame that for one reason of another the dog now travels on the back seat instead.
I will have to remove the cage to get to the spare tire or to service the 48v battery. Not really a big job, but the tie down straps are a bit fiddly. I wish there was some sort of quick release toggle clamp.

I was using these in place of the included straps (for some reason I initially thought they were not included so went off to order some additional ones). I did eventually manage to snap one though by tightening too much but the quick release works very well:

Thanks.

I was really looking for a solid toggle latch of some kind instead of a strap. Something like this.
