Tuxmat fit near accelerator pedal

We love our Tuxmats, with one exception: the driver's mat tends to bulge out away from the car's concave area in the vertical central tunnel wall, crowding the accelerator pedal. I've found that I can encourage the mat to stay close to the tunnel concavity by wedging in a piece of wood (photo) and leaving the car parked in the hot sun for a few hours. The floor mat behaves better after that. May have to repeat the treatment again soon though. Any other experiences or solutions? I've tried adhering the hook side of an strip of industrial Velcro against the backside of the mat, but the Velcro strip's adhesive does not hold well to the mat. The edge clips supplied by Tuxmat hold the edges well, but the area of the concavity tends to pop out.

I’ve had the same problem. I feel like I’ve just gotten used to it for the most part. Every so often I notice it, though.

I agree. I just got used to it and push it with my foot. I guess having size 8.5 shoes has a benefit. Size 13s would make this untenable.

Same problem, I used the clips but the pull was so strong it separated the Velcro from the clip until I super glued it. So I got a couple 2x4” strips of Velcro from home depot and super glued them along with the clips and it’s finally holding the Mat in place without the bulge. Hope that helps

The superglue held the Velcro hook strip reliably against the Tuxmat's backing?

I agreed this si the one short coming of the Tuxmats. Also Volvo has a wide tunnel there so the space was already limited. I took the hook side of the Velcro and put like 4 of them right along that area on the Tuxmat and let it hook to the Volvo carpet. I think it is holding I need to look. If it is not holding well then superglue idea is sweet. I also have some stranger 2 inch Velvro roll I can use thos larger hook strips and try.
I attached Velcro using epoxy, let it set for 24 hours, and now the driver’s side is flush, including the area to the right of the accelerator. No more bulge!

I havent had this problem, but I went crazy with the clips.
Looking again at your posts and comments, did you guys not get the pick shaped clips with the hook on it? I exclusively used those for times I could squeeze them in the trim cracks, like this, and only used the Velcro where there were edges with no trim cracks.

I recd the clips but they didn’t do the trick, especially the part to the right of the accelerator.
Was quite warm today and now I have this problem too… Will fix it this weekend somehow.

My solution above has worked and the temp was in the upper 90’s for a few days in a row.
