Hello,
I have a found a really good deal on a 2020 t4 fwd momentum with premium package, no heated seats but oh well.
What are your thoughts, how well does the fwd do in the snow I live north east Ohio. I thought about getting chains. My other option is the Subaru Forester sport or limited does have more options than XC40

I still am curious how the fwd does.

With chains it will be the same as any other fwd car. Doable but not the safest way, unless you are experienced in driving in snow.

We had 3 Subarus and 1 Jeep GC before and they were all amazing in the snow. This will be our first winter in a AWD Volvo. I am slightly nervous.
