There's hope

I ordered my XC40 T5 Momentum AWD in osmium grey with all available packages on April 11 and received my car on August 14. So, there is hope for those still waiting for their cars. I should mention, however, that one of the sales associates at the dealership said his wife ordered her XC40 in January and still has not received it. Perhaps I got lucky?

I would say with the huge backlog that Volvo is currently working through, that it's going to be luck of the draw, depending on trim/spec. Anyways congrats on the new car and welcome to the forum!
Bretlaw, welcome to the forum, congrats with getting your XC40 in somewhat of a timely manner and so you know I'm very jealous! So for the past 10 days what are your likes/dislikes with your vehicle? Thanks and take care!
So far, I am very pleased with my XC40. It's a bit overwhelming at first, learning how to program and use all the technology. (I was driving a 2004 Jeep Liberty prior to purchasing the XC40) My only minor complaint is the start/stop function not being able to be turned off and stay off. I did program an individual driving mode without the start/stop turned on, but I still have to remember to change the driving mode from comfort to individual every time I start the car. It's no big deal but just a minor inconvenience. I love the smooth, quiet comfortable ride, excellent acceleration, automatic headlights and, in particular, the voice control. The stunning good look of the vehicle is also a plus. So, 10 days into ownership, I have to say I'm a very happy camper.
Recall !!!

Just received a call from Volvo USA stating that the XC40 has been recalled due to an issue with a rivet on the brake pedal. I was told that it is not safe to drive the vehicle and that it would have to be towed to the dealer for inspection. If found to be defective, parts would need to be ordered with no estimation as to the length of time that might be involved. Oh well, it was a nice car for the 10 days that I've owned it.
Update on Recall

I just got back from the dealership after having my XC40 inspected per the recall phone call I received. Fortunately, my vehicle was OK. Apparently, on some XC40s, the rivet holding the brake pedal does not have a flange on both ends which could potentially cause the brake pedal to fail. I do not know the potential number of vehicles that may be affected or if the potential defect is specific to particular models. If you already own an XC40, I'm sure you will be notified very soon if your vehicle is potentially affected.
6 months wait here in Malta as well. I was lucky. They had one in the color i wanted but with a D3 not D4. They allwoed me to add all options i wanted so i'll be here in Nov and not March :) Maybe check what is ordered and what they can change?

Great to hear that your vehicle didn't have the rivet issue. It' s also good to know that your enjoying your vehicle please keep us posted and I'm very excited for you! Won't get mine until mid December so living the dream through you guys! Despite the little setback with the start/stop function which I believe a few folks have discussed in this forum. Continue to enjoy and drive safe! Mike
