According to this driving test by Thom, sounds like good improvements to the EX30 suspension. Too small for my tall familia, but I am liking the new features, upgrades etc that I hope we can see a few come into the C.XC40 lineup if at all.

1. I like the frameless mirrors, which was specifically designed for the EX30
2. Love the dotted door panel design. I’d love to see this on the C40 which likely won’t happen
3. No extra drivers information in front of you is a NoGo for me. I don’t like constantly looking at the IHU.

The single panel central display is weirdly atypical. But I think we'll see it in may new cars, BEV and ICE. I'm assuming (perhaps unjustifiably) that Volvo's consumer research team arrived that design after careful examination of a specific economic and age demographic's desires and demands. You and I ain't in it.

 

Volvo started the central display unit being designed and developed as a Portrait style look for The EX30, now the EX90. The Polestar 2 and 3 have it as well. The Polestar 4 is the one I really like which is the “landscape” view of the central display unit.

It will be a few years before Volvo can get the EX30/EX90 kinked out correctly. Too many variables right now when it comes to manufacturing and software delays not to mention Tariffs and declining demand for high cost EVs. The low cost of manufacturing in China for an EX30 was around 30-35K I believe. If they shift the EX30 operations to Ghent, Belgium (which I believe they will), costs are likely going to be higher so the final MSRP could be well above 45K. That’s no good. Volvo should likely just move EV manufacturing to Ridgeville, South Carolina. This is where the EX90 and the Polestar 3 are being considered for manufacturing operations.
