Sunroof Bulge

Anyone have a similar issue with their panoramic sunroof?

Mine does not sit flush with the roof on both the driver and passenger side. Almost as if the glass were molded for a different profile roof than what ultimately ended up in the design of the XC-40.

The attached picture may be hard to tell but the bulge is roughly .5cm above where the rest of the glass sits when closed. The problem manifests itself not just as a visual issue but through wind noise coming in at the two points where the glass bulges upward.

I have taken the problem to the service department at my dealer and they seem to agree that it is an issue and have since referred the problem to the factory rep. Unfortunately, as yet I have no feedback or resolution but do remain hopeful that Volvo will make it right.

Just wondered if anyone else who has taken delivery has noticed a similar issue?

roof---and other fit issues

Have exactly the same issue with roof fit.

In addition, driver side of front hood gasket/ grill is out of alignment. Dealer service cannot figure out how to correct---referred to Volvo rep. Still waiting for correction.......

Picture?
Just picked up my R design, noticed it has the same bludge, but next day it was flat... what was your outcome?
It sounds like the darker glass expands from heat from the sun and causes the sunroof to bow slightly - that would be my guess. Check the bulge when the car is cold in the morning or cool in the shade and see if the bulge disappears.
The sunroof seems to be a weak spot in the XC40. There is apparently a known issue with a slurping sound when driving through rain / water, which has to do with a drain hose. I understand if you have this problem, Volvo will install a newly designed part. Hopefully it was fixed for those of you with later cars. I have that noise, plus a wind noise from what I think is a lousy seal. I'm waiting for it to get worse so the service department doesn't fail to hear anything when I bring it in.
