Supposedly there will be an update that will bring the XC40/C40 up to par with Polestar 2's dual motor 260 mile range.
First! Dealer applied this today. No immediate noticeable differences.

Nothing seems that exciting in the update. I will get it 2-3 weeks after ota hits giving volvo time to pull it.
Volvo has a proven record (2 examples) of pulling ota’s if there are too many problems.
Fingers crossed this is a good one.

Well I’m still on 2.3. My car keeps telling me it’s up to date. I’m also looking at the updates and they’re very minima.
We've been on dealer installed 2.3 for a few months and have had zero issues FWIW.

About a month or two I had an issue with the key. The car wouldn't lock with the key or keys (I see this is addressed in the later updates). I had to take it back to the dealer. And towards the end of last week and over the weekend the network wouldn't work in the car. Everything was offline. No traffic updates, no assistant, no Spotify, etc. The Volvo app didn't work either and is just as dodgy ever since. I wouldn't rely on it in an emergency.
I feel that we are all beta testers. As there are so many issues with what essentially is a very basic car.
Friends of mine have BMWs and Mercs. They don't seem to have issues as we all do. Their apps are brilliant and far more sophisticated.

Where did you get this information from ? I've never heard of this optimization. I'm pretty sure that the polestar has greater range because it has a larger battery pack.
P2 has the same size pack ~78 kwh.

answered my own question, I was wrong, it is a software update. Must have been living in a cave for the last few months.

The EPA-rated range number goes from 208 to 223 miles, and Volvo says a software update will provide the extra miles for existing 2021 models as well.

Love the way they say these specifics on press releases but when it’s the notes to the users it’s “range increase” or “drive chain …” or “an increase in efficiency” without specifics.
Is the p2 260 in American or European range?
The 260 miles P2 dual motor range is USA EPA. There is a post in one of the threads here where a Volvo representative mentioned a software optimization update that will bring more range to the XC40/C40 vehicles (in addition to the 223/226 miles). I'm too lazy to search for it.
You may be referring to my video post where the rep says they’re hoping for 250. So far that’s the only time I’ve heard of it but hopefully you heard elsewhere too

Would be very nice if it was correct though that is a long way from the original … but I would be delighted to be surprised by its reality 
Oddly a range of 260 will make no difference on most journeys as they are more defined by where the charging stations are be range of the vehicle. Of course 260 might allow a couple more dead spots in the US to be reachable which would be nice.

No. It was a more recent interview article during one of the press/media events prior to the EX90 press releases. I could have sworn somebody posted it in one of the threads here. I just don't know how to find it.
