I noticed on my Volvo mobile app a new feature - the “car icon” below on the dashboard. Clicking on that gives me the following picture below which matches the color of my C40 - Fjord Blue.

Clicking on “Car Software” gives me the list of features for 2.9 as denoted above, which wasn’t there before. I like it…progress! 😀😇

Yeah that’s where I pulled this data from. Before this, I would just find it in the UK software update website which usually gets updated before the US software update site:
US site: OTA (Over The Air) Software Updates

I can see the update in my Volvo Cars App, but it still hasn't been pushed to my car yet. Fingers crossed it comes soon. (I'm in Poland by the way)

Takes typically a week or so before you get prompted to install. pending that you use the care regularly so that the SW package get’s time to be downloaded. If you use the car for only short periods, the download stops and resumes as you use the car again.

Thanks for that info. I've only had the car for a couple of weeks, and this is my first OTA update. I use the car daily, and have set it up for automatic downloads so hopefully it'll come through soon.

Any idea when this will be downloadable in USA? My car release notes show it, but my c40 software update checker says I’m up to date at v2.7?

It takes a few weeks for the update to roll out via OTA. If you don’t want to wait, you can go to your service center and have them push the update.

7-10 working days after announcement. Just make sure you’re over 40% charged for installation or you won’t get the notification to install.

Someone on Reddit posted last night they now have 2.9. Location is unclear, but maps are in English with "miles" as the unit...so US is a guess, specifically California. Apple Maps looks great and it's nice there is now a range estimate available.

looking forward to OTA2.9.

Wow! So one of my rants on a thread I started a few days after I got my XC40 has actually been addressed (not that my rant had anything to do with it). Someone at Volvo told me they took away that range indicator below the battery gauge back around 2.3 or 2.4 because..."some customers said the display looked too busy." :-| Display looks fine to me with that there.

Now I'm very eager to get 2.9 in my vehicle.

Super happy to have the Apple Maps in the driver side display. If only they’d give apple the current charge, it would be perfect :)

Same! I notice the range is on there under the battery, that’s new.
Really like the Apple Maps, but if it doesn’t read the battery tough to use it (our Mach E supports it). Once we have that, golden

2023 XC40 B5, still 2.8, no 2.9 update available yet, but if you click on the software release details it already shows the 2.9 notes🫤 (California, US)

Still no Android Auto. 😭
The car is running android auto, it will never get android auto, just use the same google account you sign into your phone on.

Hope it comes through soon for you. I just picked up my C40 this past Thursday and it had already updated itself to 2.9.

If you picked up the car on Thursday the dealer installed 2.9 before it was delivered to you.
