First long drive after updating from 2.5 -> 2.7. The lane-keeping / follow seems a little better - I drove with it on about 100 miles and it stayed in the lane most of the time. I think the software updates over the last year or so have increased cold weather range. My drive was in about 35 degree F weather and I went about 90 miles on 1/2 the battery at pretty fast speeds (~75 mph).

Is it custom to restart the IHU after such an update?
Should restart all on its own since the OS new and if it doesn't restart it won't know who or what it is. When I sat down the morning after the 2.7 update was installed, I had the Volvo logo on the screen immediately, indicating the IHU was restarting.

The decrease in effectiveness of regenerative braking with each update is quite annoying. This was one of the most appealing features of the car when I first got it, and it's noticeably less so now. If there are in fact people who find the braking too aggressive, there ought to be some way to control this as a user-configurable option, with at least a couple of possible settings.

I will note that the amount of regeneration has never been entirely linear from day to day. Taking out the variable of charge state, I have found the car tends to regenerate brake less at certain times. Or conversely, times when it seems to regain some of the braking force, which it has a number of times after an update seemed to robbed it of some. The variance and lessening in braking force is a minor issue because luckily they have the pedal programed to be super linear always, almost better than a naturally aspirated engine car. This is one of the key reasons the car is pleasing to me.

I have found the car incredibly solid over two years so I have accepted that over air updates are going to constantly monkey with the car and that things will change. To their credit every update has installed perfectly with no glitches or resets, 10 of them now.

The change (again) in regenerative braking is annoying, but even more so is the lack of improvement to Pilot Assist. It is still garbage on the stretch of interstate I commute, trying to pull all over the road and losing it’s mind when I pass the beginning/ending of an off-ramp or on-ramp lane.

I hope they start adding dotted lines through exits like I’ve seen in other countries. There’s been a big push to widen lane markings supposedly for assisted driving but it seems they overlooked the exit lane problem

The biggest and most positive change I’ve experienced is when in OPD using crusade control if you cancel cruise control the regen is gentle. It used to be like hitting the brakes, hard.
I always set crusade control when traveling to the holy land

Am I the only one left who hasn't received anything regarding this update yet? No email, no app notification, nothing in the car itself? Nothing? 23 XC40 B4.
This subforum is for the P8 and P6 (and others?) all-electric models. The B4 is a mild hybrid, correct? Does it run on Android Auto now as opposed to Sensus, and are the software updates typically the same as for the electric models?

Oh gosh I'm sorry, I didn't release. It is a mild hybrid, running AAOS. I've read that others with my same car get the update, so I assume it's the same as the electric models.

Every car running AAOS is under the same software cadence. My wife’s XC60 had 2.7 installed at the dealer last week while it was in for service.
Have you tried restarting the IHU? What version is your car on right now?

I have restarted the head unit several times, including this morning. Its currently on 2.6. I guess all in due time......

Have you contacted customer service? They might be able to check if your vin number is part of the updates.
If I remember correctly, some non-recharge xc60 owners were having issues with the updates a while back.

My car downloaded the update and I began the install. My app then notified me that the install did not happen and now my car says "up to date" on 2.5.

Not sure what happened here or if there is a way for it to rediscover that 2.7 is available.

So I called Volvo Customer Service and according to them ALL 23 and 22 XC40 have to go the dealer to be updated. She didn't even look anything up, soon as I said a 23 XC40 she immediately said nope, not coming OTA.

Ah, incompetence. Would hate for that service advisor to actually know anything now....

Updated to 2.7 for few days. Tonight something happened to me that had never happened in 2.5 and 2.6. The crystal gear knob remained on while the car was closed. Opening and closing did not solve. Start the car no more. So reset TCAM. The 2.7 is supposed to solve this problem:
« Correction to the crystal gear knob occasionally remaining illuminated upon vehicle exit »

Somebody else have this issue after update?
