Is there a way to find out the Sensus software version currently installed in your car? It would be useful to know and be able to check if there is an update available. I understand it is still the Volvo dealer that needs to install the update, but it would be good to know if there is an update available.
It's interesting to see (from the manual) that a Volvo dealer is able to determine the installed software version from the VIN, including a lot of other information (such as time since last service was performed, fluid levels and odometer reading). Your XC40 sends this to Volvo every time the car is turned on...

Sensus Software Update 31676057

I just had my XC40 in for it's first service and noticed an extra sheet attached to the work order. It was a Service 2.0 software upgrade. I'd also like to know where you can locate the version number, also what enhancements or bug fixes the updates include. Is there anywhere where this is posted?

From what I've read there is no way for owners to check software versions within Sensus itself. This information is only shown when its connected to VIDA at the dealership. Would be good for them to at least provide somewhere to review patch notes.

Disappointing indeed. So why do we have "Update Available" messages for let's say the maps but not for the system software?
