Picked up my XC40 2 weeks ago (R-Design, Polestar Red/Blk) after a fantastic 10 years in my Subaru Outback. Really liked my outback and had only 1 complaint about it and most of Subaru's lineup - underpowered. In comes the XC40 - spent about a week researching and bought it the day after my test drive. This is a fantastic car, great technology, handles well and scratches the acceleration itch. Also...every 3rd car in the Seattle area is an Outback...

Had two Volvo's in my youth - a 79 262C and 78 242GT - both fairly rare and would have loved to have kept one and dropped a Turbocharged B23 redblock into it. But was a broke college student and needed a truck to move away to school.

Where in the States do you live? I am in Conn and am waiting waiting waiting for my pre-ordered car (from last fall!) that supposedly is in NJ waiting for a software upgrade. Getting very disappointed with lack of delivery but more so with lack of communication.

Pacific Northwest - I thought about ordering a car this time around like I did with my outback to get some somewhat rare features (manual trans + STI Short Shifter). But wanted to get this done with and the Subaru was about to throw a CV Joint - which would have made the only mechanical issue for 125k miles.

This is also my first automatic transmission since that 262C...which still is a little weird. I would have bought a manual transmission in a second...but they are rare in every manufacturers lineup.
