Remote Start Question

Hey guys. I have a remote start question and as expected the dealership was useless. For years I have used Viper, or Comp U Star. When the car is remote started, then parking lights are on and all the heat is at full blast if I leave it there when I park. With the XC40, there is no indication that the car is on. If you stand next to it you can hear it, but I just wish there was a visual. Also when I get into the car when remote started, the vent for the heat is not on. The seats and steering wheel are warm, but no vent. I called Volvo to see if this was normal and no one knew anything. The only thing I can think of the fan not being on is the stupid start stop thing. To me, if the defrost cant be on, theres it seems kind of useless. Thanks

It seems preconditioning the car (as the function is called) does not support heating the passenger compartment... Page 210 in the User manual.

OK, there seems to be a bit more to it... With the On Call app you should be able to remote start the car and have the climate control system heat or cool the car. Please see the link below for an extensive discussion on this topic.
