Right. My car went in for it's service (still a free one) to my Volvo delearship. I had explained about the fault - the stop / start plus my parking sensors were 'temporarily disabled'. I got a call to say it was the 'stop / start' battery, and it needed replaced at a cost of £212!!! Not covered under warranty... I complained but my dealership said Volvo warranty wouldn't cover it and it was because 'the car hadn't been run enough to charge the battery'. Now, it might have been a pandemic, but I'm an essential NHS worker & I was at work every **** day, so the car was run, although it's low mileage for 3 years old. I complained to Volvo UK Customer Service, they said the same. To add insult to injury, after I got the car back my voice control isn't working. It was ok when I took it in. I called them, they suggested a USB update from the web, and if it didn't work, to arrange for them to see it. It didn't work. So my poor husband had to get up at 6am, to get ready & get to the garage for 8am, another round trip of over 50 miles, for them to fix this. I like my car, but I'm not sure I'm at all happy with this poor customer service and I don't know how it left Volvo garage with quite a bad (software?) error. Might be put off it now :-(
