Oh I didn’t know that! I’ll check it out tomorrow as it’s past midnight here. Cheers!
Oh I didn’t know that! I’ll check it out tomorrow as it’s past midnight here. Cheers! If you hold the assistance button you will get Siri (at least on 2.7!) Maybe not quite as convenient, but then you can do either as needed (e.g. I use Google for navigating but Apple for music.)
Polestar and Volvo are not the same companies and the software teams are not necessarily the same people. While it is possible a third party is servicing both companies, the displays are different and the cars, despite superficial similarities, are not the same cars.Polestar 2 and XC40 Recharge are built on the same CMA platform and both use AAOS, so they share almost identical hardware and software. I think it is reasonable to expect similar software capability on both cars.
If you have inside information, hopefully the end of May estimate for OTA will become reality. I contacted Volvo support when I couldn’t get my 2023 Recharge to find the update, and they told me that the update isn’t currently available as OTA, and that there is no firm date when it will be. Their direction was to schedule a service appointment at a dealer to get the update loaded.2.9 will be released via OTA during the last week in May, 2023.
You can count on Chris’s posts… Chris works for Volvo USA.If you have inside information, hopefully the end of May estimate for OTA will become reality. When I called the Service Advisor at my dealer for an appointment, he reported that the issue is that 2.9 is too big for an OTA package, and that they don’t know when/if it will be massaged sufficiently to get it into an OTA.
I’m interested in getting the Apple CarPlay updates as soon as possible, since I use that system frequently. It may be that the new Apple code is part of the size problem, since it includes new capabilities for using the Information Display in front of the drive.
This is how it originally was - activate adaptive cruise control and then toggle on/off pilot assist with the right arrow. It’s better than having to drill down in the menus - taking it away was a great example of a solution in search of a problem.Another update re 2.9.
they did enabled switching between pilot and cruise control using the steering arrows on the left side. But only the RIGHT arrow is used to switch to a fro. The left arrow is useless and unused.
Great! Maybe in next OTA they will enable left arrow to toggle Keep Lane Assist :-DAnother update re 2.9.

I vote left button fires ze misslesGreat! Maybe in next OTA they will enable left arrow to toggle Keep Lane Assist :-D
I’d really wish a one pedal mode button (I know there’s Google assist). My wife can’t grasp OPDGreat! Maybe in next OTA they will enable left arrow to toggle Keep Lane Assist :-D
As turning the OPD on and off is not something you have to or need to do while driving (?) then I don't really see a need for a button as in this case it is only three "touches" on the screen to turn it on or off. But then again I know that some people want to turn it on and off depending on if they're driving in the city or on the highway. I've had my OPD turned on since day 1 ... and wouldn't now even consider a car without a functional OPD systemI’d really wish a one pedal mode button (I know there’s Google assist). My wife can’t grasp OPD
I got my car after the button functionality was removed. So was it then that the left arrow button never used to do anything? This is how it originally was - activate adaptive cruise control and then toggle on/off pilot assist with the right arrow. Good question. You read my mindI got my car after the button functionality was removed. So was it then that the left arrow button never used to do anything?
Yesterday was my first long journey using Apple Maps on 2.9 in place of built-in Google Maps. I may be unfamiliar with the controls, so maybe there are some settings I can tweak, but noticed a few gripes:My dealer installed 2.9 for me today just in for my first (aka 32,000) service. But on the other hand I frequently shifted between adaptive cruise and pilot assist in my previous V60 so I am looking forward to this returning ... even though that now that I have not bothered engaging pilot assist from the screen I am actually not missing it![]()
Unless I misunderstood, if you have 2 keys (most do) then you can have two profiles (one per key) and enable OPD for your profile and disable it on your wife's. That's what I do. I also have separate mirror and seat positioning in my profile.I’d really wish a one pedal mode button (I know there’s Google assist). My wife can’t grasp OPD
The only thing I would add is that if you both have your keys with you, each with it's own profile, a quick lock/unlock using the driver's key before getting into the car will ensure that the correct driver's profile will be set up.Unless I misunderstood, if you have 2 keys (most do) then you can have two profiles (one per key) and enable OPD for your profile and disable it on your wife's. There are times when both of us are in the car with the key and her key is recognized before mine. If I'm driving in that scenario, I do the quick profile swap, by swiping down and pressing the round icon on top right and then picking my profile.
I agree 100%. I recently had occasion to rent a new Ford F150, and I could see "now playing" in up to three places at once: (1) in the CarPlay pane, (2) in the center screen next to the CarPlay pane, and (3) in the driver's display. True American excess! Seriously though, even when CarPlay was showing maps, (2) and (3) were still available.Sounds like a solid update. The biggest thing still pending my wish list is a "now playing" banner which is expandable / always visible on the display. The fact that I have to switch apps to see what song is playing is dumb.
