No mention about fixing the bug with the incorrect calculation of time left until full charge? WTF, it will remain unfixed?
Too lazy to click? Here you go:

  • You can now switch between Pilot Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control with the left steering wheel buttons. More information about Pilot Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control can be found in the Owner’s manual after the installation.
  • New features in Apple CarPlay:
    • Apple Maps is now available in the driver display.
    • “Play/Pause” and “Next/Previous” buttons are available in the Apple CarPlay tile.
    • “Now Playing” information is available in the Apple CarPlay tile.
    • Phone call information is available in the Apple CarPlay tile, driver display and HUD (Head-up Display). Phone calls can be handled using the buttons on the steering wheel.
  • Added an option in Controls settings to fold door mirrors when locking the vehicle. Your choice will be connected to the currently used profile.
  • Improved stability of the infotainment system.
  • User profile is now correctly switching to the currently used key.
  • Radio channel is unchanged when starting new drive cycle.
  • Drivetrain optimisation adjustments.

Doesn’t it already do this?

The bullet about drivetrain optimisation adjustments usually doesn't have much to do with the actual drivetrain but some other stuff. What you are mentioning could be hidden under that bullet.

The mirrors fold, yes, but it is not optional. I read this bullet item as providing an on/off setting for the function. The mirrors will now fold/unfold on every park'n'lock, putting much unnecessary wear and tear on the motors and gearing. Plus, in areas where ice can freeze on the mirrors, there is a signficant risk of destroying the mechanism if the ice has completely locked up the mechanism. Personally, I never need the mirrors to fold when locking the doors so I look forward to deactivating this function as an optional setting.

Thanks for posting. It's nice to know that PA/ACC switching via the steering wheel is now back where it used to be. The bullet point makes it sound like a new feature.

I'm sure that those of us with new cars who got the raw deal of not being able to OTA 2.7 won't be able to on 2.9 either.
Drivetrain optimisation adjustments.
Hope springs eternal that eventually this will include more aggressive regenerative braking in OPD mode, but I'm not holding my breath. If they meant to include something like the Polestar choice of degrees of aggressiveness (none/some/more), that would have shown up as a new feature.
Otherwise, this all sounds good.

On an other forum I saw that the remaining range is now always displayed, instead of only when it drops below 50 km. Volvo must be the last manufacturer to do this.

Did he say whether the dealer installed the update or the car prompted him that v2.9 is available?

In a different post someone reported customer support, when asked about this issue, replied the information was remove because of complain from users that it was making the dashboard content too dense.

If this update is rolled out like previous packages, it will be several weeks before it is available in all countries and regions. IIRC, v2.7 was anounced here and showed up in my C40 12 or 16 days later.

Has anyone in a moderate climate (no issues with ice) actually had one of the folding mirrors fail?

I do appreciate the slightly lower potential of someone damaging them when they're folded, and also the visual indication of the car being locked, but if they are prone to failure I might consider turning off the automatic folding.
