Hey guys! Has anyone who has ordered recently, I would say in March or April, gotten any kind of indication around delivery from Volvo? I ordered mine on April 25th and now its been about 5 weeks and they keep saying "We're waiting on word from Sweden". I originally had an order, which I was forced to cancel, that was supposed to be delivered in mid April, but was then pushed back a week before delivery to mid May, during a time when I was out of the country. The dealer and Volvo both told me if I didn't take delivery within 14 days then it'd be up for grabs and my order would be cancelled and refunded. Now I'm frustrated because my second order seems to be going nowhere. Has anyone heard anything????

I ordered an R-Design from my local dealer on 31-Mar. My sales consultant said I would likely receive it in May. I received word from Volvo USA a couple weeks later giving me a delivery date of September. I contacted my consultant, and she said Volvo USA had given out some bad delivery dates, and that she would look into it. A week later, she sent an amended PDF with a new delivery date of early July (factory build completion was estimated to be early June). It's now a couple weeks past my supposed build date, and no word. I really hope I get it in July, but I'm not holding my breath. Part of me wonders if Volvo USA was the one being honest and if my dealer is stringing me along until September.

The communication from both Volvo USA and my sales consultant have been abysmal. It seems like they don't communicate with each other, either, as the dealer never seems to know what's going on. IMO, when you're running a business and something changes, you contact your customer with an update, regardless of how you think it will be perceived. That's definitely not happening here - I have had to initiate every communication, and then it's typically a day or two of "I'll let you know", then I get an update.

Long Wait

Mine is a Care By Volvo order, placed April 25th. The dealer suggested a delivery date in a couple months, a phome call to Volvo at that time indicated more like September. Yesterday received an email that delivery is not expected until First quarter 2019. :sad:sad:sad

Not sure if I will wait that long, have other cars that will do quite nicely.

Update: My vehicle has been built and I have a VIN. The date got pushed back a couple times, but as of now, they tell me July 31st. Fingers crossed!

Ordered Oct 2020, notified of arrival at Port Newark (NJ) in Feb. Waiting for software update. Notified that software was updated in mid-April but waiting to fill a transport truck before shipping to dealer. Now it's almost mid-May. I see many posts of vehicles delivered and even one where the customer saw one at the dealership, bought the same day and drove it off the lot. This is truly terrible. I would not trust any of the promises from Volvo corporate.

Yeah I waited a lot longer than was originally promised for my delivery. 5 weeks became closer to 3 months as I recall.
