We began looking for a White R-Design in Mid December - called all over California to dealers - no one had one with all the options as we wanted (she wanted white). Found out that a dealer in Walnut Creek had a shipment of XC40's coming in with a fully loaded R-Design with 4C with every option except the Lava carpet. We put a deposit on it and it was delivered last week after about three weeks wait. Paid full list price as these cars, especially the R-Design in white, sell immediately. The dealer stated that these cars would only be sold outright with no leases etc. I found out that some XC40's are listed as used on the dealer websites are actually new cars as Volvo sold them and registered them directly to the dealers in December prior to delivery so they could inflate their total sales numbers for 2018 showing cars sold for the year. This car was one of them. All 12 XC40's the dealer received were sold in the first few days. Paid 47,385.00 plus tax and license.

likewise... early feedback of build quality issues are still tainting my decision process and confirming my bias towards buying a brand new vehicle too soon.
I thought the same thing but realized that the XC40 had been available in Europe for the last year so I felt that most of the new model issues had been mostly addressed. Also the drive train has been in production now for a couple of years in other models and appears to be well sorted out. I am still a little afraid of the Sensus system and potential issues over the long haul. I did get an 8 year 100K mile warranty when I purchased it. I guess time will tell. Only slight frustration is getting the driver profiles and seat adjustments etc. sorted out. I thought I had it working right as it works for me and my key but when my wife uses her key and profile it does not re-adjust. I have something out of order somewhere. Definitely a car for the more tech savvy person until everything is sorted out.
