Hello everyone! Excited to be a member here.... I'm proud to say I finally took delivery of my loooooong-awaited R-Design about 2 weeks ago!

Ordered back in mid-May and was shocked :surprise when the dealer explained how popular the car was and how long we'd be waiting to get one. Wife and I had fallen in love with the car before even sitting in one so we were prepared to suck it up and wait however long it took to get the car.

It was definitely frustrating at numerous points in the process not knowing exactly when we'd be getting it but now that she's here IT WAS WORTH IT! Absolutely love every aspect of it... and boy is she a looker!

I've already picked up a couple great insights from posts on the forum... looking forward to more!

Congrats on getting your XC40 @Wheels.
I think you'll like it even more being one of the only European (although Chinese owned) car companies with great resale value.
Keep us posted on how your XC40 holds up!

Congrats on your new XC40 and welcome to the community. Happy to hear that it has lived up to all your expectations and agree its one of the best looking SUV's on the market. Looks great in the black on white color scheme.
Always good to see the growing amount of owners we have joining like @Wheels and @mikemiddle0105. Ceramic coating, or just some way to protect the paint after taking delivery is an asset. I hope you guys have plans to follow through. If you do, keep us posted of any imperfections in the paint, not always do owners get a perfectly "new condition" car.

eVolved, glad you're enjoying it so much so far. Could you elaborate more about the ceramic coating or any other suggestions on how to protect the paint? Mine is Black Stone and it's very susceptible to scratches and swirl marks.. more than other black cars I've owned.
Well XC40 family, the wait is finally over! I was notified by my local dealer that the XC40 had arrived on 12-14 but due to a death in the family I had to travel to my hometown. I took delivery of my XC40 on Christmas Eve (dealer closed at noon CST) so I picked it up at 1000. (Pictures coming as soon as I get her cleaned up). So far the vehicle has been everything you guys have said it was and more now that I have driven it. I've had so many compliments in the past two days, I currently have the only Fusion Red in the entire Omaha/surrounding area, the car drives so smoothly, acceleration is superb, all of the bells and whistles are living up to the hype Volvo has delivered with this model. I will keep you guys posted with my feelings as I continue to get acquainted with the vehicle. I believe I'm going to try the waterless cleaner since it is raining today and I can clean it in my garage. Will let you guys know how that works out for me. Take care!:grin

Please let us know what you notice from its build quality. Spent some time going over initial owner reports and I haven't been quite impressed.

thanks :D
eVolved, will let you all know about the build quality. So far so good but just a basic walk around the car/touching/feeling different parts of the car.
eVolved, took a look at the vehicle from top to bottom on yesterday and as far as I'm concerned everything looks solid. I have bought new vehicle in the past that have had rubber stoppers fall off with just a touch but this seems to be solid. I do hate there's a little bit of engine rattle noise when I first start it but once I place it in gear (reverse out of the garage) the noise stops. Will keep you posted if I notice anything else. Where did you see that post/info about build quality issues or was it in this forum? Thanks, take care and Happy New Year!
Congratulations! I saw a fusion red in person here in Chicago and it looks soooo nice, even so much better than in pics. Great choice.
