On this past mini road trip I noticed the touch screen was getting a little hot to the touch. A couple times later on the car notified me the infotainment was going to be cooled. Is this normal?

This has happened to me several times recently. I think it is pretty normal. Which raises a question. Why tell us? I appreciate that it cools infotainment but not sure the point of the notification. Or maybe volvo needs more nuance to the type of notification. We get the same type of notification for automatic collision avoidance as cooling infotainment system.

I just had it happen for the first time yesterday while sitting in the car parked for around 20 minutes. Some fans kicked on but I didn't notice anything else
