I found a Rubber Flag for Hood (Official Replacement)

For those who are fans of the rubber flags on the hood that are always mentioned by reviewers but didn't get one on yours I found some on the official Volvo lifestyle site. Installed on mine and it looks great. Not 100% on if the adhesive will last but I bought a couple of replacements just in case.

I picked up mine at Dave Barton's Prancing Moose page

Also picked up this badge. Volvo, it's like Ferrari, but different...

Hmmm, I guess a Chinese flag might also be (/more) appropriate ?

I looked on the site, but darned if I could find that flag. Where is it?

Why is that? The XC40 is built in Belgium. Don’t be a racist on this site please.

Chill... Volvo is owned by a Chinese company: Zhejiang Geely Holding. The Geely story's fascinating - going from a car that was ...um... pathetic (really) to owning Volvo.

"Racist" is a hard word to be throwing around. I'm just sayin'...

Racist? Nah. Smart ass? Definitely.

Volvo is Chinese owned. After it was American owned. Still a Swedish brand for now.

Land Rover was owned by BMW and briefly by Ford before becoming Indian. Would be a hard sell to say it's not a British brand. Don't think you'll find many referring to the late 90's Land Rovers and Range Rovers as 'German' vehicles.

Geely also owns Lotus and a few bits of the Daimler group.

As it stands now, it sounds like the Swede's may be less and less enthusiastic about the Geely ownership as the company loses more of its independence.

As for the flags, I think I may have gotten them from Dave's eBay store, not the web page.
I picked my Volvo Swedish flags up at Walmart online, $7 bucks + shipped free and great quality (purchased 3 as I know car washes will have an impact) Much better then the $50 shipping fee + customs/duty on the Volvo website .....

And if you ever get into some muddy battle somewhere, it's "War wash safe. " 🤣

Jeff is correct. Definitely not racist, and my comment stemmed from the Chinese ownership.
In fact, my new XC40 (Nov delivery) is Chinese manufactured.
The build quality is absolutely perfect, so my initial concerns unwarranted with Volvo.

My wife's MG ZS though is entirely different (also Chinese made). I'll fitting cabin parts from the outset.
Now it has engine problems. Has had to be towed to the dealership three times, and the latest time it has now been an entire month in their hands and they still havent worked out the problem. They've had it 'ready' for pickup three times, and it wouldnt start to drive it out of the service bay.

Thanks for the explanation. I withdraw my cast aspersion. Are you in Australia or New Zealand? I understand your flags are difficult to distinguish. In either case, it makes sense Volvo/Geely would have used a closer regional factory than Belgium. How are you enjoying it overall?

I'm in Australia.
I didn't know at the time of placing order that it would be Chinese manufactured. Only found out when I deciphered the VIN code when the stock was allocated.
Anyway overall, this XC40 is the sweetest drive i've ever had (and it is my 24th car, 16th New). Last two were Infiniti's and I didn't think I would find better than those. It doesn't have the legs/torque of my former Infiniti Hybrid (5.4s 1-100 dash), but I never really pushed that capability in 4 years anyway.
Very happy being a bloody Volvo driver ;)

Time will tell how the Geely ownership of Volvo works out. I get a new company car ever 3~4 years (was very 2 years for a while when I was driving 55k or so miles a year), but our personal vehicles tend to be long life. Still have our 1997 Land Rover Discovery and this car replaces our 2004 Infiniti G35 which our son wrecked. My gut tells me the XC40 won't last nearly as long and with each year cars becoming more and more like mobile iPads on wheels, I suspect vehicle ownership will get shorter and shorter.

All that said, I do like the little flag stickers and love the Volvo dancing moose version of the Ferrari horse. :)
I'm in Australia.

I wish they still competed in SuperCars down there! After F1, that was my favorite racing venue. Cheers!
WalMart Canada sells these as well; just $7.99 with free shipping. I'm certain this is a recent addition. I found it doing a Google search
