The few times I have had to open the hood to get to the cables on my new P8 I’ve noticed that the corner on the driver’s side does not close all the way. I have had to either push down hard a couple of times (making with hood flex, which is worrying) to get it to close, or open the hood again and then close it. Has anybody else seen this? I saw one review a few months ago where the reviewer noticed the same behavior.

I think it is the standard Volvo 2-hooks solution.
I always push it in place with two hands, one on each side
But you can see in some YouTube reviews that test-drivers did not close the hood properly

Right, it's either that you aren't pushing down quickly enough with 2 hands as you close it, or the height adjustment of the loop is too tight on that side. It is very simple to adjust it. Mine needed to be tightened by a half turn on the passenger side. I wanted the hood to be as level as possible and tight along the front end.

As @JT Rock said, sounds like to adjust the loop. I had a similar issue on mine where the passenger side wouldn’t latch unless I slammed it shut, half a turn fixed it.
