Just curious what others are paying around country (or world) for charging at home. I'm sure it will vary tremendously, but interesting to see what the range is.

Here in Golden, Colorado (Denver area) we're paying $0.128/kWh (Tax included)

Vermont $0.17650/kWh M-F 1PM to 9PM (our evse is set to deliver no power at that time) and $0.13433/kWh the rest of the time. Our regular electricity is at the 0.17.650. Our house was not a good solar candidate (trees/chimney/roof sections) casting shadows. Our house ridge is on a north/south axis so we have east and west faces. South facing would be much better.

In Northern Ireland I pay 9p/kWh ($0.12 US) overnight (7 hours) and 18p (£0.24 US) daytime. Going up in January though! I do have solar panels and a Zappi charger so in summer the car just sits and grazes on it. Stuck with cheap overnight energy at this time of year!

We have DP&L(AES) just outside of Columbus, Ohio. Once you factor in transmission fees/etc, then we pay ~$.093/kWh and have no special rates for off peak charging or anything. Our actual electric prices are $.048/kWh.

PSEG is 11 cents per kW, but with Juicebox 40 registered with them, I get 5 cents off from 11pm to 7am until 2023.

Doesn't beat free and fast at local Nissan with CCS DC charger, but very convenient.

So I have a great deal. My power company offers 400 kWh free each month between 12am and 6am, then it is $0.045 per kWh during those hours. Then from 6am to 1pm I pay $0.075 per kWh and from 1pm to 9pm $0.135 per kWh. They also gave me $250 bill credit for proof of my EVSE. For the 3,250 miles drive I have only paid about $12 in power over 7 months. I have my EVSEs set to charge between 12:01am until 5:59am so whenever I need to charge I just hook each car up as needed and it charges over night. I have never not been able to charge back up to 90% within that window and lowest I have had is 34%.

Here in Australia we’re on a special EV charging rate from midnight to 4 AM $0.09AUD/kWh, peak is 3PM-9PM $0.29AUD/kWh, all other times off peak $0.19AUD/kWh. Multiply by about .73 to get USD. There’s also about a $1/day supply charge. We have 5.2 kW solar system so we charge mainly during the day when we have tons of excess solar. The solar feed-in rate the utility pays us has dropped a lot and I think now it’s only around $0.05AUD/kWh...so best to use solar if we can rather than using the off peak or EV rate.

Here in BC the Hydro is charging the following:
  • Step 1 - $0.0939 CAD (0.0700 USD) per kWh for first 1,350 kWh in an average two month billing period (22.1918 kWh per day)
  • Step 2 - $0.1408 CAD (0.1100 USD) per kWh over the 1,350 kWh Step 1 threshold.

For the last 2 moths of ownership my Hydro bill increased with 200.00 CAD and that is 6,000km of driving. Same amount in gas here (1.50 CAD per litter regular (4.43 USD per gallon)) will be bit over 1,100 CAD.
Unfortunately everything in my house use electricity and paying in the winter 250.00 CAD per month is normal.
