Is there any news as to when Volvo will release their front parking sensor kit for retrospective fitting for the XC40 R Design. Perhaps our friend from the factory may have some knowledge.I really want the Volvo option rather than obtaining any other retro fit kit.
Want this to enable the auto parking option as obtaining the rear camera.

You're in the UK, right? It's possible the UK models don't have sensors in the front. While I haven't rented cars in the UK in a very long time (last one was a Mini!), I rent cars, from Hertz, regularly in Germany. Only a couple of cars had sensors in the back and not up front. They look something like this:

The quick way to test if they're there but not working as you expect is to have someone stand in front of the car. If there's no response, hold a large cardboard box in front of the front bumper. It's possible you have sensors, but something's not working as it should. Ask a dealer about it.

There are mentions of after-market sensor kits (Amazon, etc.), but they almost certainly won't appear on the instruments or central display.

The vehicle definately doesn't have front cameras and I really want the Volvo option when released. Perhaps our contact at the factory in Belgium will let us know if they will be released in the future.

The odds for the release of a retrofit for the camera and sensors (or even sensors alone) are zero or close to it. It's Volvo's clever way of increasing car sales.

I have recently purchased a XC 40 R design with only 300 miles on clock. I had a reversing camera fitted to match the rear reversing sensors. I was told that it also has front sensors, On using it I found out it did not have the fitted. The Volvo garage I purchased it from, admits their mistake, however they say Volvo state that these can only be fitted at the factory when it is being made. I only need to sensors to make a bleep when near something surely this is possible as an after sales retrofit.
Has anyone any knowledge on this being done?
