Already dropped my trade in to just under $50k.
Now it's in the 47's and they are looking at $6k profit if someone buys it at exactly asking price, and they somehow transported it for free and didn't have to pay for Volvo certification...looking more and more like I got the good deal I knew I did, and the market just hates this thing.

Yes...I will update this thread until it sells, lol!

The used vehicle market has drastically changed in last few months. Don’t think you can distill it so simply. Loan rates are high as is inventory across the board. This cost is also way above the used EV federal tax rebate.

Someone might buy it too that doesn’t drive it hard or as fast to be in the ‘shakes’ zone. My commute rarely has me going >70mph, but when I do I don’t have vibrations.

Just read some of your older threads and it sounds like you are experiencing something akin to the lane keeping aid alert vibration, that’s the only thing that would feel ‘like an electric toothbrush’ on the steering wheel. I guess it’s possible some weird bug could randomly do this, but I’d expect more reports and a software fix by now. If it’s a bug turning the feature off would not solve the issue.

My guess is defective motors. Also would explain the clicking on hard acceleration sometimes.

Yes the market shifted. Everyone told me I got screwed on the trade, but I knew better. They're still in 2022 while we're living in Q1 2023s end. Now the volvo dealer is stuck with an albatross, just like I knew they would be. The 42k tradein was fair.

As it should be, but that doesn't help fix the cars that do vibrate. In my case:
  • Care by Volvo say - The cars shouldn't vibrate
  • My Dealer says - It's not an issue, the one over there does that
  • XC40Forum says - isolated case, mine doesn't do it
  • XC40Forum also says - up to 40 cars vibrate
  • Volvo HQ says... Nothing
So which is it?

If its so bad then exercise your rights. I am certain the UK has ways to address this. In the US one can file formal complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If its really as bad as you make it seem, you can potentially use lemon laws and a lemon lawyer. I believe you have the information you need to move from this site and on to the people that can do something for you.
