Hi all,

Polestar announced today* that they've updated their app so that Digital Key is now working fully, and you can leave your car key at home with this.
Information at links below.
* apparently not today, it was just the Swedish website that was updated with this info today. I found the corresponding press releases on Polestar UK from months ago, so my questions are even more interesting now I think

My question is. I don't own a XC 40 (I've placed an order though with delivery in 5-6 months) and I am wondering if Digital Key works for you guys as well now with this change?
Or is it just for the Polestar 2? (which would be weird IMO as same tech).

Then I have the exact same question for the fantastic app A Better Route Planner. The 2nd link below is a press release from Polestar announcing that that app is now integrated into the onboard infotainment system, which I would love, love, love on the XC 40.
So again my question is, for those of you who already own it: Are you also able to install ABRP?

ABRP would rock. I will try and install it tomorrow.

Electronic key? We have Volvo on call coming but ghost seems different. Another thing yo look forward to.

I contacted ABRP since they gave a Polestar2 app. Here’s the response:

“Unofficially are talking to Volvo but they seem more cautious than Polestar so it may take some time...”

Very Hope they get out of that hole. Don’t think too cautious is where you want to be in the EV business in general.

Does the name Volvo conjure the image of living on the undefined edge …

I bet it hurts their souls as the P8 is with its twitch google os.

I do agree with you though just it’s Volvo

I sent an email voicing support for ABRP. Got a boiler plate response, but it adds one more data point to help them in setting priorities. I also asked them to push google to open up. Publishing all these apps should not be Volvo’s responsibility, and Google blocking it is the, being anti-competitive.
