Car Automotive design Vehicle Personal luxury car Gadget


Came to pickup my charging bag and my sun curtain at my local Volvo dealership. I have them checking for the above ☝ collision avoidance and driver support system error messages.

These two popped upon my dashboard over the last day or so. I was out of town and had the car at the airport for 3 days. They were kind enough to accommodate me (without an appointment). Let’s see what the diagnosis and fix is. This happened after the OTA2.2 software update, so I am not sure if it’s a software fix. It’s been 6 months since I have owned mine and my first service run.

I am waiting to have them install the sunscreen as well.

Has anybody run into the above two issues at all and if so what was the resolution? Stay tuned tor my updates!

1. Sun curtain installed looks nice.
2. Got my Volvo charger bag
3. Took out my windshield Tint strip. The tech messed up by peeling off one of the heater elements right below the windshield camera.
4. Getting a new windshield (Yes) replaced. The part of back ordered but my dealer service manager told me, I should get it by Thursday and get it fixed by Friday (fingers 🤞🏽).
5. Do NOT install a windshield tint strip. I really liked the work my TN TINT tech did, until this issue popped up. People make mistakes and we all do. The guy that worked my Tint is an expert so after talking to his boss, I will get a refund or they’ll put up a new windshield strip for free…but after talking to the Volvo tech, they don’t recommend putting a windshield tint. I think it really depends on the workmanship!
6. Let’s hope these errors are resolved after I get my new windshield replaced.

These also popped up for me last week after having my car for only 1 week. Brought it to the dealer, sat there for almost a week until they said they have to order a new control panel? Should be getting my car back today. Hoping for no more issues

These also popped up for me last week after having my car for only 1 week. Brought it to the dealer, sat there for almost a week until they said they have to order a new control panel? Should be getting my car back today. Hoping for no more issues
Wow - a new control panel and only after a week of driving.

Hoping you don't have any further issues. Mine was caused by a damaged windshield tint that interrupted the safety codes and damaged a small section of the front defogger element (I have a detailed thread about this on here). All the best!

It's a wonderful car and most of us that have had it (the early adopters) have had great successes albeit issues as well. I have a solid Volvo Dealer in town that my C40 and I work with, so feeling good about it (unlike the entire Polestar network). Enjoy and post pictures of your C40 Girl! :)

just had this happen two a days ago. now so many things are disabled: all cameras , parking sensors, cruise control, lame assist, auto headlamps, hvac timers, all lte functions, even factory reset is not possible. any update on how you solved this?

I've had a similar issue after a week from delivery, I wasn't able to get factory tinting so went aftermarket through a recommended installer at Volvo. This is the second time I've received the error in a week and had to restart the car to clear errors. Volvo wants me to bring the vehicle to examine further, keep you posted. I'll let them know of the window tinting findings, thanks for sharing.

I received the same error as depicted in your second screenshot. I spoke to another window tinting specialist in my town who owns his own shop. He advised me that there is a layer of another protective covering that is supposed to be put down first, before a windshield tint could be applied. This was an "aha" moment for me. I took out my windshield strip and replaced my entire windshield with a brand-new windshield (my tint shop that screwed up paid for it, they were good about it, OfCourse after having straight shoot convos with them + The Volvo techs video recorded the entire diagnosis with the error codes. We basically called the Tint Shop from Volvo's Service Station and showed them the error and the issue. I got my refund and a new windshield with a recode of the safety codes.

ALWAYS make sure you have supported evidence of the diagnosis and troubleshooting of your C40. If they don't have it, ask for it.
