I placed my order on 03/31 and initially was told July and then updated to late June. Two weeks later, someone emailed to confirm the order and ship-to dealer.

Unfortunately my lease on my S3 ended two weeks ago, so I'm without a car until then.

I placed my order in January and was promised delivery the 2nd week of April. Unfortunately it seems the paperwork is still not ready and my concierge keeps giving me only vague responses. They are now saying the car should be ready next month, but they've already pushed back the delivery estimate twice and I still haven't received any paperwork or confirmation as to when I will. Has anybody else had better luck?

I am in exactly the same boat... Placed my order (Care by Volvo) on January 12, received the VIN on March 19 with an expected delivery in the second week of April. Now delayed until 'sometime in May'... :crying

I placed an order yesterday, April 24th. Got a confirmation email but no VIN or delivery date. On the phone Volvo service said probably in July which if fine by me. Don't actually want if before mid June because of travel. While I suspect we will be swimming in these cars someday right now there is just more demand than supply. My dealer has exactly 2 and those are demos. If he orders a car delivery is estimated for September although they may swap with other dealers if they can find the right configuration. The subscription supply channel is separate and will be sooner than ordering from a dealer unless the dealer actually has or can locate one to sell.
As I understand it there is worldwide demand for these cars including US, Europe and Asia.
So much unknown. Fortunately my wife has her car and that takes care of most of our needs so its easier for me to be patient.

as per my concierge the Cars are at the port but they wont release hem until paperwork is finalized. I do not believe volvo has closed the contract with liberty mutual since that is the only 3rd party involved? Im tired of waiting as well because i need to schedule when i will sell my current vehicle.. and the longer they wait the more miles the wife racks up.

I couldn't take the lack of communication and clear timeline from the concierge so unfortunately I had to cancel my order. Its embarrassing to Volvo that this still hasn't gotten off the ground with all the heavy advertisement from them.

"Thank you for your email. I completely understand. We are waiting for an update on the paperwork timeline."

The dealer offered me a lease but for significantly more than I was willing to spend. And because the XC40 is new and demand is high, they refused to even try to negotiate the price and told me that there was no negotiation. I couldn't take it anymore so I left Volvo altogether. This is certainly no way to treat customers.

As I see it, this is an experiment by Volvo, and we are part of the experiment. They have a nice product and an interesting delivery idea. I'm patient and my wife has a car so I'm covered for major needs. But I am also capable (for the first time in my life) to be able to walk down the street and get any car I want. If this gets too difficult I will just walk away. So I am keeping an eye on how people are treated since this is sort of a 'marriage'. I don't expect perfection but I do want product quality and consideration. I don't want to set off a PC/Apple discussion (have lots of PC friends), its just that is why I buy Apple products, I expect them to work and be well treated and I will pay for that.

There's new activity around CBV ramping up. Posts on Swedespeed state people are being contacted to get approval from Liberty insurance. They've been approved and now wait for the credit application. Good news that CBV seems to be happening after all! Now I impatiently wait for my VIN.... ?
