Coincidentally, today, I realized that a large number of my iPhone contacts have NOT been synched to the car. I received a text message from a friend, but only his number showed on the banner, not his name. So, I opened up the contacts screen in the car and realized his contact was missing from the list, even though it's on my phone. At first, I thought perhaps it was just a timing thing - that maybe synchs only happen periodically. So, I tried turning off and then back on the "Synch Contacts" switch in the Bluetooth profile on the phone. That had no effect - the contacts did seem to reload on the car, but I was still missing many of them - and it was the same ones still missing, including my aforementioned friend. Then I thought I'd try completely unpairing and re-pairing my phone. Again, no change.
I've looked at many of the missing contacts on my phone, and there's nothing unusual about them, nor any pattern I can discern. They're not flagged in any way, or part of any special grouping, or have any other characteristics that stand out. It's a seemingly random selection that the car did not import.
Is there some sort of limitation on contact synching? I have about 360 contacts - could that somehow be choking up the synch? There doesn't seem to be any other issues related to the phone connection - everything works perfectly, and all my "Favorites" are on the favorites screen and the "Recents" is accurate as well. It's just the master contact list that isn't complete. I have no issue with contact synching on my other vehicle, so I'm going to assume that rules out my iPhone having a problem.
