Hi. I've been told today by the local Volvo dealer that the high voltage battery needs replacing. The car is 2 months old - delivered early December and done just less than 1,000 miles.
I had the Drive Propulsion error message about three weeks ago, the day after the software update to 2.13.3. The Volvo technician turned up and checked it over, said it was a software glitch and cleared it. A couple of days later it came back along with the battery dropping to about half capacity and the orange arc at the top of the power meter. Range was 110 miles but showing I had 90%. The percentage was dropping really quickly though the range was dropping correctly. It wasn't allowing me to charge more than 90% and the range wouldn't go above 110 miles. This was even though my driving to date was at 32kwh per 100 miles so at a rate to give me about 220 miles.
The technician came out again and did more checks. He said there was a coolant sensor error which was making the car think the temperature was much colder than it was. This gave the errors and the effect on the range. He said that the car was okay to drive until the service to look at the problems which the lease company had booked with Volvo. That booking was today.
I have seen a couple of others on here with similar problems. The dealer have given me a loaner and told me that it will be 5-10 days for a new battery to be delivered from Sweden - I am in the UK. Then whatever length of time for it to be fixed.
Anyone else having these issues with MY24 cars delivered in the last 3 months or so?
