After some research I feel I’m going to get 20” for my winter set. My reasoning is I wouldn’t have to worry about the Speedo being programmed.

While searching for the 20” original wheels I found three sets without tires (tires were removed to sell separately). These are referred to as take offs. Used less than 1000 miles. They are available on the east coast. Im interested to see if there are two others that want this setup so I can try negotiating the price with the original tires. Im feel 1800-1900 with tires would be fair. Estimated shipping to the East coast would be 200

The 19" and 20" OEM spec tires are exactly the same diameters. You shouldn't need to reprogram the speedometer if you switch to a 19" 235/255 staggered winter set.

EDIT: Also, I have not seen any winter tires available for the 20" spec. Did you find some?

I’d potentially be interested in a set of 20” wheels (no tires) but not for my XC40 but actually, potentially, for my Polestar 2. If you have width/offset specs I’d love to compare them to the P*2 and see what might make sense there. DM me if you want. No tires needed here.

My notes show that there was a programming difference for the 2021 XC40 Recharge 19" vs 20" when they used to show both as an accessory option on their website. Yes, the tire circumference is nearly identical (nominally), but under a load there are likely subtle performance differences that they tune for.

OEM 19" Wheels:
Front: 19x7.5, offset=50.5 (part#:32243375) 235/50R19 103V XL 714 Revs/Mile
Rear: 19x8.5, offset=56.0 (part#:32134537) 255/45R19 104V XL 720 Revs/Mile
Hub cap kit: 32147649 (black set of 4)
Software: 32270068 (Application, speedometer, steering gear and tire dimensions)

OEM 20" Wheels:

I'm very skeptical/curious about this. I'd love to hear from someone at Volvo who knows exactly why there would be a programming difference. Weight? Wheel width? Sidewall difference? The very slight rear offset difference? The answer to this could impact any aftermarket wheel and tire considerations.
