Anyone install side body moldings to prevent door dings?

Has anyone installed these: Volvo XC40 Painted Body Side Moldings, 2018, 2019, 2020 | ShopSAR.com ?

They don't look bad and it looks like you can get them in your car's color for a perfect match.

One thing I was a little concerned about on the 2020 XC40 is that it was 10" wider than the car it replaced (a 2011 Subaru WRX STI). This means that it's more prone to people dinging your door when parking next to you.

I've learned to park "strategically" but at some point, it's just too stressful if you have to worry about door dings. I know it's just a car and eventually you will get dings but I'd like to do a little something to help even a little.

I'm curious about the experience in installing the side moldings and where did you install them so can be the most effective.

Did not know you get these for the Volvo, but I have install several of those on other card and they worked really well. All the others came with a template on where to stick them. Maybe these will too. Have to look at these a bit closer for our XC40 since the people around here are old and can't see anything around them.
