Do you guys think Volvo will update our current software to Android Automotive?? The electric xc40 comes with it.. I remember in Google IO 2018, Volvo did show the xc40 running Android.

Thoughts?

I hope they do. Just got my XC40 3 weeks ago. I love everything about it.

This update would be the cherry on top.

i know 2020 runs Andoid auto and I would not have bought the car without it; I bought mine in Aug 2020.

Only XC40 P8 (full electric) will get Android Automotive for now. Maybe newer / future models too?

Man I've got my fingers cross they can update the gas models. Just got a 2021 R-Design a month ago and didn't even know about Android Automotive!

They won't and they can't (unless they replace the entire nav-system)...

I think they've introduced the demo Android Google system on the petrol version of XC40, for a motorshow purposes or something like that. Back in 2018/2019.

This suggests that the hardware could be the same. That would mean that there's room for an update. But I don't believe it will happen, because of the 'exclusivity' and the fact That they already have a product for 'common' cars - Sensus.
