A/C Problem fixed for now

I have been having issues with this since I took delivery in May.
It was just blowing warm, hot air in 90+ degree heat.

I discovered when I Preconditioned the climate when parked, the A/C started
working! I believe the issue is software related, as the hardware is working.
Hopefully, this is a fix until Volvo gets the real issue resolved.

Thanks.

I had an AC issue, after 20 minutes of use it would just stop working. I got a software update at the dealer in late April that seemed to fix it. If your car was stuck at the port it should have been fixed before delivery. If you bought it before that you need to go into the dealer and get the software update that fixes this issue.
Had the same issue - software update did not fix the issue - it is intermittent with no real pattern - was at the dealer for a week waiting for a new expansion valve as suggested by Volvo Tech support - picked up the car today - A/C worked initially - made a stop to get a coffee - started driving and A/C was just blowing warm air again. Emailed dealer Service Manager - they will work with Volvo Tech support again - not sure if it is related to software - or cooling of the battery priority or whatever - they will advise me when to bring it in again. Dealer needed a special tool to capture refrigerant and A/C oil since it runs through the battery as well. It also need special oil due to this - so the A/C system is quite different from a ICE vehicle A/C.
Just purchased mine earlier today and I’m already back at the dealership after an hour because my ac isn’t working. It’s only blowing hot air. I’m in Los Angeles and it’s currently 90. We’ll see what the prognosis is. Fingers crossed it’s a simple fix

The new software update is now available at the dealership; I just had mine done today. A/C problem should be resolved!

I have a similar issue see post #3 above - have another appointment next Friday due to our current schedule. Not sure if software update will fix as there is nothing in the statement indicating it addresses an A/C issue. Pls keep us up to date as to what they do to repair it so the I fort can be shared.
The June update does mention an A/C fix. Something to do with the climate timer.
At any rate, mine is operable now.
They did tell me earlier in the day that they had performed a software update and it delayed them being able to detail the car for me. After I drove it home and then brought it back, I ended up waiting for 2 hours for them to tell me they didn’t know what the issue was. They’re now hanging onto it and gave me another XC40 Recharge to use for at least the weekend. I’m hoping it’s something software related and not mechanical but I’ll update once I learn more.

Make sure it is the June update.
