1.5T 3-Cylinder Hybrid?

Reading up on C&D they mention that the XC40 will likely come with the T5 twin-engine unit that is essentially a 1.5T 3-cylinder with hybrid assistance.

Apparently that comes with an output of 180hp (ICE engine) and 74hp from the electric motor to give us a combined 254hp.

Should be able to get 31 miles of pure electric range utilizing the 9.7kWh battery capacity.

Little surprising that there's still no news about the details or dates. Delays in the plans?
There was a press update over the weekend. Plug in hybrid and pure ev models have been confirmed but with no release date. However Polestar 2 was revealed today.
The upcoming PHEV model is said estimated to get 50 km (31 miles) of electric range. Real world numbers will probably be slightly lower. There should be several new hybrid models joining the range over the next year or so.
Don't know you have seen this .....

T5 twin engine 262hp 425Nm, FWD seven speed dual clutch automatic. Link below

Seems like a UK version of plug-in hybrid is launching later this year. American press releases say that all-electric version is coming to the US first in late 2019 with plug-in to follow (without a firm release date). My dealership (though maybe not the sharpest guy there) says there is no plug-in coming to the US.
Hello xc40 enthusiasts. (I’m a new member).
I have postponed buying a new auto, waiting (and hoping...) for the plug-in. I had expected it to be available by the end of the year. Does anyone have any news regarding its US availability? And available AWD?
Any information is very much appreciated.
Looking to replace my Ford phev, plus AWD would be helpful for Seattle driving.

UK plug-in hybrid version which is already accepting orders is FWD. It is a different platform than the XC60/XC90 hybrids that have the hybrid engine driving the rear wheels. Still no news on when it's coming to this side of the Atlantic...
