The XC40 I would buy

When the T5 Twin Engine comes out next year I will be ordering this.

T5 Twin Engine FWD, Geartronic R-Design in Bursting Blue Metallic.

Or if the prices are right this year the T5.

That might be the model i get if they turn out not having plans for the hybrid model or an EV model
I am planning to buy a car for the next 5 or so years so as you can see something that checks off all the boxes for me from the start is very important.

I'd go for the T5 AWD as well and it only comes in R-Design. Most likely in fusion red metallic and I'm on the fence about the optional lava textile floor and door inserts.

On that note Volvo should have a good amount of them pre-built and sitting on lots, so they should get moved very fast. Always a good idea to pre-order or get your spot in line so you don't have to wait.

Waiting is not really a problem for me since I have another car and it's not on lease. Not sure about Volvo dealerships, but I find that the ones pre-built and sitting on lots are usually the top trim models with everything. I hate not being able to choose what I want.

I can see how some will justify keeping it fully optioned since that way its easier to upsell people who want to wait for a build and then the fact that its easier to find people to buy that pre-spec'd model, even if it means taking some money off the MSRP.

Good way to position yourself, lucky for us Volvo basemodels are still very nice and often a segment like this would have a lot of base model or lower trim buyers.

I will be sitting out as well for now, if they release a higher performing model, then I might get that.

Going to see to XC40 in real life. Managed to get a invite to the lauch show in Cologne Germany.
So will be driving to germany tomorrow..

Looking forward to see the car in real life and see if I like it.

Drove a new XC60 last friday for a day and loved the high seating and the high ride.
XC40 is the same height so nice to compare how they compare in sitting height and so on.

I tend to go for the R-Design again.. Now also driving a V40 D4 R-Design in Rebel Blue.
Love the Bursting Blue metallic (that's only available on the R-Design).

Any information you can bring back for us will be great but I bet they will limit the sort of information people will get and bring back.

Seen a rendering of a red XC40 R-Design in red and I must say, if it happens that might be the model I get!
