Speculated Pricing

Speculated pricing for the starting price of the Volvo XC40 is £25,000 which converts, on this day, to approximately $32,200 USD.

A starting price in the early $30k range will place it around it's competitors like the X1 ($33,100), and the Q3 ($35k base AWD)

From what I've been reading, that's quite the value and well worth spending that $30k odd.

Compared to an Infiniti Q30/QX30 this is just about on par. Its going to be tough competing with the Germans but smaller volume brands like Infinti could be up for grabs. Do you think that would be a more level playing field for them?

I think Volvo is a tad bit more premium than Infiniti would be but on an understated level if that makes any sense? It's a company that's often overlooked but they produce real quality vehicles and it's evident looking at their lineup. In terms of sales, I'll hand it off to Infiniti, but in terms of quality and value, I'd be inclined to throw it in the direction of Volvo.

Volvo is still trying to define themselves so its hard to say where they sit among the various luxury car makers. Current S40 isn't that impressive, its probably closest to an Acura ILX, however the next S40 is set to go through major changes, following the lead of the XC40. But that's just face value.

Yeah.. If you did have to place it in a group of manufacturers, where would they stand?

Hyundai and Acura would be at least two of them from what I can recall. What about you?

It's a tough one but I think they're a bit more higher end than Acura but not as high end as Lexus would be. So.. somewhere in between that I guess?

i currently have the BMW X1 and i am happy with it but its time to move on to a new one due to high maintenance cost.
When i purchased the X1 the competition was the lexus NX, Mercedes GLC (because the GLA is horrendous), Acura RDX, and inifiniti QX50

The Mercedes was eliminated because of price and GLA is gross
Acura has no luxury. Boring technology
inifiniti QX30 didn't exist yet and the technology in the 50 did not impress me
I loved the volvo XC90 but they were scarce, price was too high, and because of those 2 things dealers did not want to play ball with me. The XC60 was not even debuted yet as well.

So it came down to the NX and X1. Both luxurious with a good price. NX had an extra perk that it had blind spot notification and BMW had the perk of having the maintenance cost baked in as well as the handless tailgate opening.

I am so looking forward to see the perks of the XC40 but i am sure i will not be disappointed. From a luxury perspective ive seen volvo equips them nicely on par with BMW and lexus. I wouldnt put volvo in the category of Acura or inifiniti at all.

Was never a fan of BMW because of its bad reputation for reliability, perhaps unfairly so, though I don't plan to buy one to find out. Infiniti and Acura has dropped the ball IMO when it comes to SUVs. As far as I've seen, most Volvo's come equipped with a lot of standard features and they generally have a premium feel to them.

Even though the Volvo XC40 seems so affordable compared to the XC90, I''m sure it'll still uphold the brand's standard for excellence.

The starting price of the XC40 is in many countries in Europe a topic of discussion.
Here in the Netherland the prices are not released yet (Next week) but will also be high.

Only the moment off course only available with the top range engines the D4 AWD and the T5 AWD.

Next year when the less powerfull engines and front wheel drive will be available the prices will drop.

Current drive Volvo Rebel Blue V40 R-Design D4 Polestar tuning
